GOVERNMENT CONSULTATION - THE FIVE YEAR PLAN
On 7 February 2005, the Government announced a five year plan
entailing a top-to-bottom overhaul of the UK immigration system.
This will impact on all aspects of the system as currently
used by employers. The Home Office has launched a wide-ranging
consultation process on this plan. The consultation will end
on 7 November 2005. The Home Office is intending to announce
firm proposals for change and a timetable for implementation
in the Spring of 2006.
Because of the potential impact on all employers of the Government's
proposal we will be responding to the consultation paper and
in doing so can present the views of you, our contacts and
clients. So if you have not already had your say here is your
chance!
For a summary of the proposals click below. We recommend
having a look over this if you are not familiar with the details
as yet. You may also want to refer back to it as you go along.
