One of the major differences between the laws in England and France is that French law requires neither vendor not buyer to employ a solicitor to represent them. Technically, all the details of the sale and purchase can be handled by a single Notaire, who represents both parties. Notaires are not required to produce reports or searches and rarely speak English.
